Sing Your Song Tag

Hi! Dana here today sharing a sweet and sunny tag that I created with the Susan K. Weckesser Sing Your Song and Fly Away stamp sets. I cut my tag from a piece of Live In Color Patterned Paper. I added texture by applying molding paste over a The Crafter's Workshop Labyrinth Stencil (TCW486).

I used the Susan K. Weckesser Live In Color Stencil to add X's down the side of the tag and flowers along the bottom.

I colored the stamped images with watercolor pencils and finished the tag with some colorful ribbon, trim and pearl accents.

Gift of laughter

Definition of a gag gift:
A gift that is given strictly for comedic effect expecting laughter in return.

After all, a gift of laughter is the best gift of all. Gag gifts are as much fun to give as they are to get. Ironically, they require a little more thought than a traditional gift but gag gifts can generate loads of fun and cost very little. Take this fun and easy gift that I created. I think you can guess what is wrapped up under the tissue paper!

Did you know there is such a thing as gag gift etiquette
1. Make sure the gift won't offend the recipient by hurting their feelings.
2. Know your recipient and their personality.
3. Everyone attending ( if it's a party ) should be comfortable enough to laugh at the gag gift and it's recipient.
4. Gag gifts are very common and expected at birthday parties, especially 40th, 50th, and Over the Hill birthday parties.

To finish off the wrapping, I needed a small tag to attach to the ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Susan's Live in Color paper collection has a sheet of tags in it, so I cut one out and stamped the "smile" sentiment from the Insta-Cute stamp set on it. What could be easier?

Giving the gift of laughter is priceless, so lighten up and go for it!

Feeling Blue ? What To Do.

What to do when your blue...have cheerful paper to use. Using both Susan K Weckesser and Core'dinations Color Core paper I was able to make a quick project and have a great gift on hand.
Painted Sentiments is one of my favorite sets from Susan K Weckesser. This set stays out on my desk all the time.

Have you ever made a memo note holder? They are so easy to put together and such a great way to use up scraps of paper. When I cut a piece of my favorite Susan K Weckesser paper I save EVERY piece! That is how I decorated the top and sides of my memo holder.

Love it!
I have been saving (hoarding) this fabulous paper and realized I have TWO pads of these. Am I the only person that saves favorite supplies?

Susan K. Weckesser Inc. /Crafter's Workershop Stencil  Can you believe how much I use this stencil, and how wonderful it works to edge my memo papers.

So I hope your saving your scraps and using them for quick gifts.Would love if you share some of your ideas with us.

#tagsoflove

Tags are so fun to make!  A little bigger than an ATC, but smaller than a canvas.  #tagsoflove is one of the things Susan K. Weckesser loves!!

I am so lucky to be on Susan's team!  We get so many fun things to play with!  This tag uses products from Susan K. WeckesserCanvas Corp.  Core'dinations Cardstock, Tattered Angels, and Ranger Ink.

First, I take out all the supplies I might use.  I usually take out too many!

I wanted to use the Core'dinations paper in a way that would show it's core.  So I went way old school and dry embossed this chain design from Susan's stencil into the paper with a stylus and a foam mat.  Then I turned the paper over and sanded the design with the Core'dinations "Sand It Set".

Super cool, right??  I then splattered some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on the corners.

I made the tag from Susan's Live In Color Paper Collection, then I used a piece of book paper on top.  I added my embossed paper to the bottom.  I inked the edges of the whole tag with Ranger Distress Ink "Weathered Wood".  Then, I stamped the heart from Susan's stamp set "A Little Grunge Love" and the word Love from her stamp set "Heartfelt Warmth" right on the book paper.  I made some dots around the heart with a marker.

I finished my tag off with some Cord and Clothespins from Canvas Corp.

I had such fun making this tag!  I hope you create a fun tag today!!  And don't forget #tagsoflove

Quick and Easy Stencilled Tag

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here today.   This month we've been asked to create tags.

Tags can be an simple or as intricate you want and since you can use scraps to create them, all those left overs come in handy.   My tag uses scraps of paper, a stencil and some paint.

I started with a scrap from the Live In Color Collection and used Art Anthology's Limeaid paint with The Crafter's Workshop stencil

I matted the tag with Core'dinations cardstock and then fussy cut some flowers from the Live In Color Collection.  They were a perfect fit and added so much dimension to my tag.

The sentiment is from Unity's Grandma's Needlepoint stamp set which was stamped in brown ink on a scrap of cardstock and then matted with Core'dinations cardstock.

Why not take your scraps and create some tags today.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Lady in Summer - Tag with Core'dinations/Clearsnap/Tattered Angels

Tags are a fun way to try something new, step out of your comfort zone, and just play.  Why not play a little with the last bit of summer left!!  Can you not just imagine being the lady walking through these bright gardens on a beautiful summer day?!?

Susan K. Weckesser's papers just scream summer, bright and cheery and perfect for putting a smile on your face.  I played with the layers of her "Beautiful Daydreams" paper, placing a full 12x12 paper into the size of an A4 tag.  I took bits from each element (sun, could, kite, and flowers) and layered and used foam dots to create dimension of a lady walking through a garden on a summer day.  I then back it with Susan K. Weckesser's "Live in color" green side paper and used lots of ink and Ranger Stickles to make things pop!!

I did a ton of fussy cutting, some layering on top, and some behind the main section of the tag and the lady.

I used the stunning lady stamp called "Poised and Pretty" from Susan K. Weckesser.  I used the cute little hat and jumper outfit and stamped it with Clearsnap Mixed Media Inks in yellow then used Tattered Angels mist in pink.  The ink resisted the mist so it created a wonderful contrast.  I stamped everything in Core'dinations cardstock in beige.  Lastly I took Pitt Pastel pencil from Faber-Castell in orange, yellow, red, and mustard and drew in contrasting colors on the hat and dress.
